Just So You Know: Song Lyrics

Just So You Know: Song Lyrics

I can't wait for you to hear my new song Just So You Know. It's so special to me, and the lyrics are a big part of it. Ahead of it's release on March 30th, 2015 along with a new music video (just a few weeks away!!), I wanted to share with you the lyrics written by myself and Oliver Miguel. This song is dedicated to all those we've lost.

The crowds have gone, and calls have stopped
Has everyone forgotten but me?
I float along, still I can’t move on

Highlights from Folk Alliance International 2015

It’s been a few days since I got back from Kansas City and I’ve finally had some time to reflect on what an amazing experience Folk Alliance International was. I have to say that four days absolutely flew by! The atmosphere was electric with so much incredible energy and music. I often stayed up till 4am playing music, jamming with new friends, and listening to the incredible performers – then got up at 8am for seminars!

Canadian Tour Complete!

Ellen Doty and her quartet completed their 30 city Canadian tour just this past week. They travelled 25,000 km by van from coast to coast and performed 46 shows in just over 6 weeks. Quite the journey! One thing they all mentioned at the end of it - Canada is a truly amazing country! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING CANADA! Check out this great video from the tour concert in Edmonton, Alberta at the Blue Chair Cafe. Video by Don Marcotte, sound recording by Miles Wilkinson.

Ellen Doty "Making Of" at the Banff Centre

I have to start by saying that I love my job! I feel incredibly lucky to be able to follow my dreams. I had the privilege of being an artist in residence at the Banff Centre for the past 10 days and what an amazing experience it was. I was joined by my wonderful team of co-writers for the upcoming album including Oliver Miguel (Calgary), Josh Crowhurst (Calgary), and Kyle Zavitz (Ottawa).
